The Financial TimesReview Excerpt:
"The story is delivered mainly in the first person from the point of view of Maja, a young black Cuban woman transplanted with her parents and brother to London and expecting a child with her white Ghanaian boyfriend, Aaron. I mention these characters' colour because the point of contact between the two lovers is a dissolving, powerful place where it's impossible to say who is most, or least, African in an emotional landscape without maps, vividly rendered. The stage on which the family drama is played is similarly well-lit but more muscular, and there's an intellectual sharpness about the author's writing which is a pleasure to read."
