Ditched: Photos by Hap Leonard

San Francisco writers will read their work reflecting the images. With tongue in cheek and a playful eye on the urban landscape Ditched colorfully captures abandoned couches which have found their way to San Francisco streets and allies. The artist felt these “formerly intimate objects” needed recognition and worked to capture their “personality” and unknown “history.”

Also on display during this exhibit, the multi-media artwork of Silvia Piloto, who helped curate Leonard’s work. Poloto, a native of Brazil, is known for her vibrant visual vocabulary. She works in a variety of media, including photography, sculpture, painting and video, and has a wide body of art which exploits the same playful juxtapositions and visual puns showcased in Leonard’s photography.
