At Tuesday night bible study I am surrounded by the baddest praying-est sisters ever. These women continue to amaze me with their ability to discern, express and explain the word so clear that understanding comes rather quickly. In the Book of Acts (Acts) the presence of the Holy Spirit comes upon the people after hearing the Apostles deliver a word to them that each of them could understand in their own language. Each person heard the same message in a different tongue. Here we see men and women utterly amazed at what has happened. The reason as far as I can see that they can all hear the message is found in three words: on one accord. In Acts, the Holy Spirit arrives when the apostles are on one accord, the people hear the apostles in their language when as one, the group stays to hear; so the one makes a powerful difference. A group acting as one increases that power exponentially. What I learn every Tuesday night is how little I know and yet how much more I long for. To be able to sit and listen as these blessed and together sisters of all walks of life, all colors, very opinionated yet discerning women speak lessons and pour them out as if from a faucet where the water knob has not been turned off - it continually flows until someone shuts it off.For me learning requires note taking, I may never look at them again however the best way for me to learn anything is to listen and to take notes. The writing seals the memory of the words into me. I can remember how I felt when I heard whatever moved me to write and when I read it and write it, I am just as emotional as if I just heard it for the first time. That is why the Bible is called living. Every time you pick it up and you ask the Lord to help you to read, discern and follow His leading, He will. For regardless of the circumstances you may find yourself in, the Lord is right there next to you.
