Yolande Barial is the mother of three fabulous children. She is a sensually spiritual poet/writer/blogger/columnist and a published author with poetry and an essay in three books: More of Life’s Spices: Seasoned Sistah’s Keepin It Real (2013); Oakland’s Neighborhoods (2006); and If Women Ruled the World (2004).

Yolande’s first piece was published in 2002 in Parents National Magazine. She has been commissioned to perform spoken word in venues throughout the SF- Bay Area since 2003, and also produced a bi-monthly poetry show for 4 years at Kimball’s Carnival in Oakland’s Jack London Square and at Magic Johnson’s Starbucks in Oakland from 2003 through 2007.
Yolande is a Red Book author and member of the Women’s National Book Association, S.F. Chapter. In 2010 and currently she is a contributing columnist for the Examiner (on-line newspaper) and the Tracy Press Newspaper. Her column, “Mother’s Corner”, appears monthly in the Tracy Press Newspaper, where her focus and passion have come together to write about experiences from a mother’s perspective.

Yolande knows that with God, all things are possible.
