A play version of Pat's and my novel Juggler in the Wind is featured in the current issue of READ Magazine. It feels great to be in the same issue with Rod Serling and Ray Bradbury. I can't thank editor Debbie Dolan Nevins enough. The amazing illustrations are by David Ho. READ is an excellent publication, by the way, and Pat and I have loved contributing to it over the years. It features fiction, nonfiction, and Readers Theater for grades 6–10. Check out the website at http://www.weeklyreader.com/archive/37.
Juggler is the first novel in our ongoing Y/A The Wand Bearer Trilogy. While working on the second novel, Star Road, something odd happened. What we meant as a simple flashback got to be as long as a novella—so we've decided to publish it as a separate book entitled The Crow's story. Since it falls nicely between the first two books of the trilogy, we decided to call it a "midquel." I wish we'd invented this term, but a quick Google search showed that midquels are already around. (Is it possible to come up with anything new these days?) The Crow's Story will be published in November by ChironBooks; check out our website page about the trilogy for more details: http://www.chironbooks.com/Wim&Pat_Juggler-in-the-Wind.html.
