William Dietrich is a novelist, non-fiction author, journalist, and college professor. He is the author of nine novels and four works of Pacific Northwest environmental non-fiction. His Ethan Gage series of historical thrillers have sold in 28 languages. Dietrich was a career journalist, sharing a Pulitzer Prize at the Seattle Times for coverage of the Exxon Valdez oil spill, and covered environment, science, politics, and features. His non-fiction includes The Final Forest, Northwest Passage, Natural Grace, and On Puget Sound. His Ethan Gage books are Napoleon's Pyramids, The Rosetta Key, The Dakota Cipher, and The Barbary Pirates. His two Roman-era novels are Hadrian's Wall and The Scourge of God, and his early Warner thrillers are Ice Reich, Getting Back and Dark Winter.
