William (Bill) Abbott's Biography
Member Info
I was a product of the South, born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1944 following at least seven generations of Georgians. For over thirty years I had a successful career as a Paleontologist and Geologist, writing over seventy professional papers professional journals. At age fifty I decided to fulfill an old dream of writing fiction. My first novel, "Sarah" was published in 2006 with mixed reviews. This novel tackles the problems of Fundamentalism and its effect of young people. This novel and its "star crossed lovers" were obviously offensive to many in the American Bible belt but touching to many other readers. "Sarah" was followed by "The Hawk and the Phoenix" which has received great reviews. This mystery revolves around the theme of ‘redemption'. It has been a big seller on Amazon's Kindle. I recently published another mystery titled "Autopsy" in the 2009, issue 13 of the literary magazine Carpe Articulum. I am presently working on a new novel titled "The Gospel of Karl".
