The Wishing Star (Nozomi no Hoshi) - Theme Song for Love in Translation

Love in Translation In my new novel, Love in Translation, fledgling singer Celeste Duncan, after receiving a puzzling phone call and a box full of mysterious family heirlooms, is off to Japan to search for a long lost relative who may hold the key to the identity of the father she never new. When Celeste learns to sing a haunting Japanese enka song called “Nozomi no Hoshi (The Wishing Star)” her life changes in ways she never imagined.
Now this fictional song is brought to life. My husband, Manabu Tokunaga, wrote and performed the music (and also produced this video!). I co-wrote the lyrics with Hiro Akashi. Hope you enjoy the music video of the theme song for Love in Translation.

Fabulous, Wendy! Congratulations to you and Manabu.
Haunting. Mysterious. Atmospheric. (And if only some professional videos were produced as well!)
Now I'm seriously intrigued and want to read the story.
Good luck with it!
Thank you so much, Rosy!

Lovely!
As someone who often uses music in my novels, I look forward to yours! There are surprisingly few of us, and I do think those who do it well are musicians themselves. Congratulations, Wendy.
Thanks for your nice
Thanks for your nice comments, Louise. When I was young I wanted to be a singer and songwriter; I didn't consider writing novels until I was in my early 40s. Now I feel great that both passions are intertwined. :-)
Sugoi!
It's weird and wonderful to find this, Wendy! The music takes me back to Japan. Had no idea there was a writer/singer around these parts with such a strong connection to Japan. Did you see Jero a couple weeks back?
k~
Re: Sugoi
Thank you, Kevin! Didn't get to see Jero, but am certainly quite aware of him.
Ganbatte! :-)

I enjoy your singing and the song very much. Nice to have so many media with one focus. The story gives the audience a book, a song and a video!
Thanks so much, Vicki!
