"The Moon Makes Its Own Plea"

 Nothing gets done

except existence. Sky

with its undirected patience.

Light carrying on

from window to window.

There are ashes in the fireplace.

would not let the angels go

without a blessing.

Last night I woke myself from a dream

crying, Let me stay!

Ditto the moon.
