I want something gorgeous to happen in America: 100 Thousand Poets for Change
On September 24, 2011 poets from 550 cities in 95 countries shared poems that expressed their desire for social change. Here in the Twin Cities, poet Paula Cisewski hosted a potluck for local poets to meet, discuss our poems and ideas, and then she videoed our poems and posted them on youtube. My poem is called I want something gorgeous to happen in America.
The website detailing the International events is http://www.bigbridge.org/100thousandpoetsforchange/
Here are poems that are living, breathing things; that invite us into them, welcome us into their elegant, ethereal dance, and walk us across the threshold into sanctuary where we look inward, feed the soul's spark, commune with enlightenment, and transform.
