As Christmas so fastly is approaching, in our family we have a very speacial Uncle that is dealing with Cancer. Wife Aunt Marge is by his side and she is not well either. Though the miles are between us they both know that they are in our everythought. They are both loved and our arms can reach the 800 miles to them and back.
On the night we found out that they got married my baby brother were so over joyed we laughed, dances and kept shaking our heads. Now that our Uncle was so ill. We bothed agreed that we don't want our Uncle to suffer and we accept the fact than when he needs to leave this world we have the memories that will live on in everyone that Uncle Charlie has every touched in his life.
As we were talking about Uncle Charlies illness, and my brother said that if Uncle Charlie passes on all he would like is a pair of Uncle Charles pants, because he knows that the day he can fill them then he will be the man Uncle knew he could be. I said I would like a shirt, because the day I could fill it, then I will have the shoulders Uncle Charlie carried through his life through all the ups and downs.
You know we have so many memories of our Uncle Charlie, Glen my baby brother even did the impersonation of Uncle Charlie when he would stick his hands in his pockets and pulled out change and through it in the air and he would step back and watch all the nephews and nieces crawl and get the change. It was so funny to see Glen do that, or the time when Glen thought if was funny to walk up to Uncle Charlie and say, "Got a buck, Chuck." Well Uncle Charlie did not approve of that at all. We talked about how we would wait for Uncle Charlies Purple and Grey pick up truck to pull in our driveway, it didn't matter what time it was, the minute we heard his voice we would coming running down stairs and like always he would pick us up and put us on his lap. No matter what our mother would say, Uncle Charlie would say leave them alone they can sleep in.
Uncle Charlie worked for everything he has, he bought a house for his mother, he was the pillar of the family. He was there for anyone.
What my brother and I agreed, Uncle Charlie was always there, but he always expected people to work for what they needed and enjoy life to the fullest. As we've grown we took Uncle Charlies love and advice and made our own mark in this world. Everything we have is because we worked for, never expected someone to pay our way. Glen and his wife have three beautiful children who also make there own way, they have three grandchildren, one whom became an angel at the age of 17 months, and two beautiful girls. Glen has also dealt with Cancer and no matter what he still works and enjoys life. Myself I have three beautiful children, and eight grandchildren, though they are distant in my life I love them and have always thought of them every day. I suffered three strokes in the last year, now I am working again and everything we have is we do work for it. Both my brother and I live everyday to the fullest. We do not judge people, we have respect them and will give the shirt off our back.
We know Uncle Charlie is very ill, we chose to remember all the good time's. Our thoughts are with Uncle Charlie and Aunt Marge, as this season fast approaches, Glen will be going to visit and bring our love with him.
This is my Christmas wish for everyone, from our home to your home, we hope this season finds you all full of Laughter, Love and Life. Happy Holidays.
