So what will our little darling's be plotting for the day marked for the commission of hoaxes and practical jokes.

Vaseline slathered on your door knobs! Rubber snakes on the floor! Salt in your sugar container!  Is this not the day to get back for all the jokes done on you.

If we think back to our own childhood, we all played jokes on April Fools day.  In Canada we had to do all our pranks before noon, that is when ours ended. We had to be quick witted and fast.

How many people know how April Fools began?  In 1506 a King named Charles  IX of France changed the date for the new year to January 1st from April 1st.  Those who did not conform to the new date were called April Fool’s.  On February 24th, 1582 Pope Gregory XIII decreed this on the calendar. 

In the club section of the red room, called The New Writers Society. I set an event to do a blog for April Fools, in which a friend mentioned something about a spaghetti tree.  So to the internet I went and guess what, In 1957 the B.B.C. did a broadcast of the Swiss Spaghetti Harvest.  This was an interesting read.  Then in 1985 the Sports Illustrate publish as story of a man who could throw a ball at a 168mph.  This story was called Sidd Finch.  The last one I will note is the Taco Liberty Bell in 1996, in which Taco Bell published a story say they bought the Liberty Bell.

In researching this on day a year, I personally dread and totally dislike, I found out the children are not the only ones that love doing pranks.  I am a straight arrow and believe do un to others as I would like them done to me.  So I am not a good person to play a prank on, I get nasty, I will admit I do not take pranks and jokes well.

We are lucky in Canada, teachers, parents and friends know if there has not been a prank played on them before noon, they are save from this prankish day.  My heart goes out to places like Ireland, France and U.S.A., were you will have to be on your guard all day.

As this day approaches my thoughts are with everyone, who may be on the wrong side of the pranks and jokes.
