A Raining Day In Minden

As the rain drizzles very slowing, the hussle of  Highway #35.  The ignorant people who sit out side your house with their car running and using your drive way as a u-turn.

After a sleepless night, I am exhausted.  I spent most of the day waiting for the hospital to call, so that I can drive my dear friend to another hospital for more test. Then to myself, my wife and of course my friends husband of 23 years the phone rings informing us that our friend is being shipped to the hospital right now.

In a panic I call the hospital due to the strange fact that the husband is upset at receiving a frantic phone call from his wife saying: "my cell phone is dieing and they are loading me into the ambulance."

Well on the phone I get in my tired angry mood I call the hospital to be told:  there was no one to drive your mother to the hospital so, your mother was crying saying there is no one that could take her, we put her in the ambulance and sent her ourselves."

Now my french temper come into play which my very reaction was:  "Last night before I left the hospital it was arranged that I would come back and pick up my mom to take her to the Lindsay hospital,  Then wait for the hospital to advise me whether my mom needed surgery.  Not only that I called at 9 this morning and informed the person that answered the phone that I was on my way, in which I was informed that my mother had a CT scan schedule for 1:15 this afternoon.  Now how the hell was there a mix up.  My dad is having chemo and this has upset him totally."

The nurse apologized and explained what happen, then took my number and would inform me A.S.A.P. on the findings on the test.

Still fuming, I started passing and at 3PM I get a call saying that three of her hernia's may have twisted, we are shipping her to Peterbough, due to the fact that the surgeon isn't here today.  If your mother requires surgery.  The Doctor gave me the surgeon's name, to call the hospital to find out what the doctor there says.  Your mother should be arriving in Peterbough about now.

So with this latest call, I grabbed my boots, hat, keys and ran out the door yelling to my wife on the fly, I have to go see dad right now, they are shipping mom to Peterbough she may need surgery.

So as the rain drizzles lazily, we sit and wait.  Now I am tired, angry and scared.  Wish the rain would stop maybe with the sun it would be better, hold on, night is falling. Oh Lord another sleepless night is on the rise waiting for the insensitive phone to ring.
