"Read, Listen and Look Outside The Box”
Bah Humbug

What does the phrase “Outside The Box” mean? Well, to some it means you have a box and look outside instead of inside. Let us add just one more word to it and see if it makes a difference to you. “Read Outside The Box” or “Think Outside The Box. Does that help you. Now you’re saying to yourself, “Where the heck is this guy going?”  More people when reading the newspaper, watching the nightly news or listening to the radio actually believe 97% of what they hear and read as the absolute truth. They don’t take the time to “Think Outside The Box.” Now you know where I’m going. Here are examples of erroneous, false and damaging reporting by our “trusted” media..
“Over the last two weeks, FOX News Channel has repeatedly -- and falsely -- reported that an elementary school in Cupertino, California, banned the Declaration of Independence because it mentioned God.”
Between November 24 and December 7, the Cupertino case has been falsely reported on seven occasions on FOX News prime time programs, numerous times during FOX News daytime programming, as well as on FOX Broadcasting Network's FOX News Sunday. Hannity & Colmes planned a December 8 live broadcast from Cupertino; a promo for that show asserted that the Constitution and Declaration of Independence had been "banned" by a California school that is "erasing God." The November 29 edition of MSNBC's Scarborough Country also “falsely” reported the story. Few, when the story was aired, questioned the authenticity of the reporting and also the accuracy of the facts within the story. Why was that?
Example: November 4, 2008. “Project Censored” claims that the US mainstream media chooses to ignore the human cost of the war in Iraq. A 2007 poll by Opinion Research Business estimates that the number of deaths in Iraq is close to one million, yet alternative news sources revealed that the US public believe only 10,000 Iraqis have been killed since the US led invasion. (Inter Press Service). Wow. How can you justify the mathematics when you also read this? “An estimated 78,000 Iraqis were killed by U.S. and Coalition air strikes from the start of the war through June of last year (2007)”, an article in "The Nation" magazine says. Lest we forget the war continues in Iraq and the date is April, 2010. The estimate is based on the supposition that 13 percent of the 601,000 Iraqis who met violent deaths reported by The Lancet study released last October "had been killed by bomb, missile, rocket or cannon up to last June. (2007)"  But, the American public and it’s allies believed these statistics. This information was the truth. Because it was reported by our trusted national and international media. Nobody, I repeat, “NOBODY” questioned these numbers. I’ll tell you what the American were saying though. “Oh, ten thousand Iraqi deaths is not much for winning the surge and the war.” What?……… One death is one death too many. Be it American, coalition or Iraqi. Period.
Next. Remember this one? It concerned the U. S. Coast Guard being in the Potomac River doing planned exercises beside the route of President Obama. September 12, 2009. “WASHINGTON AND NEW YORK — Initial reports of shots being fired during a Coast Guard exercise near the route of President Obama's motorcade Friday afternoon proved false, raising questions about how the media and the military handled the incident.” The national media love this sort of thing. They will spend an entire twenty four hours on the subject matter. Oh, before I forget, how about "CNN" spending thirty-six straight hours reporting with minute by minute updates on a boy (???) inside a balloon (???) that accidentally (???) was released from his parents backyard and travelled for hours before landing near massive transmission lines? Getting the idea now? Listen or read outside the box.
How does this grab you. President George W. Bush and seven of his administration's top officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, made at least 935 false statements in the two years following September 11, 2001, about the national security threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Nearly five years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, an exhaustive examination of the record shows that the statements were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretences. Really? No. Can’t be! The top government officials including the president would never do such a thing. But you say they did. You have me confused now. I don’t know which to believe!  Ah shucks. If I bury my head far enough into the sand it will all go away. Before you suffocate in that sand pile, (which is what the media wants you to do) read and listen “Outside The Box.”
Make yourself more educated than the media wants you to be. Make your self more educated than the government wants you to be. Why are schools and colleges closing? Because the government can keep uneducated citizens in the dark about the truth. The uneducated can easily be manipulated by propaganda and the multinational corporational owned media.
In ending, I have a quiz that you must take to see if you have understood what you have just read. No cheating now. First the history, then the question. All of the following is ”true”.
The History:
“As a senior aide to Max Baucus, Liz Fowler directs the Finance Committee health care staff, enforces deadlines on drafting bill language and coordinates with the White House and other lawmakers. She also troubleshoots, identifying policy and political problems. Two years prior to her position at the White House, she worked as Vice President for Public Policy and External Affairs at WellPoint.” ( WellPoint, Inc. is the largest health plan company in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. It has assets of $48.4 billion. In February 2010, WellPoint announced that its Anthem Blue Cross unit would raise insurance rates for some individual policies in California up to 39%.) “Now, if you drew an organizational chart of major players in the Senate health care negotiations, Liz Fowler would be the chief operating officer.”
The Question:
Who do you think wrote President Obama’s Health Care Bill?
Answer: It’s actually Liz Fowler’s health care plan (if you open the document and look under document properties, it lists her as “author”). How about that. The largest “For-Profit” Health Plan Company writing the plan for the American people. Watch out America. It will be upon you before you even know it. Read “Outside The Box”.
