Here's an idea about how to get the economy going.
On Mondays everyone buys a gift for someone. If you don't have much money don't spend much but spend something. Buy something that someone you know will like, even if it's just their favorite candy bar. Or buy something someone you don't know could use—a coat or a blanket for a street person. Or, if you can afford it, something nice for someone you like, even for yourself. The idea is that every Monday you spend a little money you wouldn't otherwise spend. If we all do that, businesses will do a little better, they'll hire more people, and more people will spend a little more, and so on.
In getting rid of the Recession we would also be getting rid of the Monday blues.
