I'm jealous of Barbie.
It's not her wardrobe, fabulous as it is, or her plastic curves. ( I'd be scared I'd tip over.) And it's most definitely not her perpetual boyfriend. (Barb, trust me, Ken is not marriage material.)
No, it's Barbie's resume. She's had 130 jobs by some count including ballerina and business executive, Baywatch life guard and U.S. president, aerobics instructor and physician, ambassador for world peace and officers in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force. That dolly has climbed countless career ladders though her ascent wasn't always fast. Barbie started as an airline stewardess in 1961 and 12 years later became a flight attendant. (Babs, a new title is not necessarily a promotion) In fairness, she also did stints as an astronaut, doctor, sign language teacher and race car driver.
Oh, and she worked the jobs above and many more all while working steadily as a top fashion model.
That's some CV Barbie!
Barbie's career counselors want to know what her next job should be be 1) architect 2) computer engineer 3)environmentalist 4) news anchor or 5) surgeon and are asking people to vote.
A little unsolicited career advice, Barbie, from one job seeker to another. The market for new Dream Homes has stalled so you might want to forget architecture and consider a career as a foreclosure auctioneer. From what I've seen, news stations are already overcrowded with Barbie-and-Ken-look-alikes but you could consider starting your own blog! It's loads of fun. I think it's nice you're thinking about bettering the world and I hate to dash your Green dreams but environmentalist jobs mostly consist of standing on street corners with clip board in hand to ask, "Do you have time to save the world today?" And how will you feel when some smart aleck tells you to go recycle yourself? The medical field is an option. You'd be a natural at plastic surgery. But you might want to hold off until this whole healthcare reform thing is settled. Therefore, Barbie, I think the best career move is -- tada -- computer engineer! You'll look chic in glasses.
Go geek Barbie!
