Dear K, Hello and virtual kisses to you!
I am baking in the summer heat. I know how muffins must feel baking in the oven.
I am working on my new radio/podcast show. It will be available on iTunes. I am feeling nervous so am sending support at BlogTalkRadio lots of questions. I've decided it will be called The V-Chats and you will be the producer. YES! So I will be talking to you soon about that.
Here is the news for the day which I think says some very interesting things about our family. Your Dad and Natalie are taking turns sleeping in the big bed with me and Asproula. Which is very generous of your Dad considering the old days! And they are making deals - for example, Natalie slipped up and said - Dad said I could sleep with you tonight so I'm going to do the dishes. Hmmm. I asked if that was the deal and she said rather hesitantly umm, yes. The cat was out of the bag. I feel somehow used - do you know what I mean? LOL! We are a weird family but I have to tell you honestly the older your Dad gets the louder he snores!
We are fine here. There is still no word on throwing the dirty banking industry in jail so Greece can get on with life in a normal way. Unfortunately the facist party has members . . . I never would have predicted that. They target anyone non Greek. And since dark skinned people are the easiest to tartget they get targeted in Athens more than anyone else. It is very bad. Racism seems to be a bad habit with particularly lazy people who are too lazy (or maybe afraid) to sit down and think an issue through.
The sales are on now that it is August. The prices are cut from 30 to even 50 percent so the sales are good this year. I'm going to start building a bookcase from Sato. They have great quality. Every August I'll add more bookshelves. They don't sell the cheap file cabinets like in the US in Greece. A five drawer high file cabinet is about 800 Euro and built very well. One of those can withstand an earthquake, no doubt. Instead though I'm going with the bookshelves and a rectangular unit that has two hanging file drawers.
TOMATOES are everywhere. Your Dad's field experiment with the town and their compost is going great. He brought a big crate of nice juicy tomatoes home last night to prove it. The farmers who are trying the compost really like it. The production is much higher than without the compost. Leda said your Dad is great with farmers, he can charm them to do anything. I told her, I already know-I was a farmer! But my point being the compost the town makes is high quality, inexpensive and really produces great vegetables. So your Dad is happy with that project.
bye now, xox from Mom
