Truth Thomas is a singer and poet, born in Knoxville, Tennessee, raised in Washington, DC. He is formally writer-in-residence for the Howard County Poetry and Literary Society in Maryland. Some of his work has appeared in: African Voices, Art Times, the anthology Fingernails Across the Chalkboard: Poetry and Prose on HIV/AIDS From the Black Diaspora, Quiddity Literary Journal, Mosaic Magazine, Pluck!, Poet Lore, The Progressive, The November 3rd Club, The Henniker Review, The Ringing Ear: Black Poets Lean South (a Cave Canem Anthology), The Warpland Journal, X-Magazine and many other publications. His first collection of poetry, Party of Black, was published on the Flipped Eye/Mouthmark press in 2006. His second book, A Day of Presence, was published in the fall of 2008.
