The fourth annual Carmel Authors and Ideas Festival will bring to Carmel-by-the-Sea more than 35 award winning authors and speakers, including authors of New York Times best-sellers, Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winners, and winners of virtually every prestigious literary award and much more.
Speakers will include David Brooks, author of the New York Times bestseller Bobos in Paradise and On Paradise Drive; Eric Schlosser, co-producer of the film Food, Inc. and author of the international bestseller Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All American Meal (nearly two years on the New York Times bestseller list); Dr. Reza Aslan, internationally acclaimed writer and scholar of religions, author of No god but God: The Origins, Evolution and Future of Islam, a New York Times bestseller translated into 13 languages; Michael Krasny, host of KQED’s Forum, and author of Off Mike: A Memoir of Talk Radio and Literary Life, and soon to be released Spiritual Envy; and Tobias Wolff, award winning author with his newest collection, Our Story Begins: New and Selected Stories, just to name a few. Many other award winning authors and thinkers will participate…they will all be here.
The Festival will be held in the intimate and luxurious Sunset Community Center, in the middle of Carmel-by-the-Sea. There will be book signings and opportunities to meet the well known speakers. Seats are limited, so attendees can expect casual conversations and informal exchanges with the speakers.
We promise the weekend will exceed your every expectation. The speakers will be inspiring, entertaining, insightful and compelling.
Because the character of the Festival calls for a certain degree of intimacy, tickets are limited. Requests for tickets are filled in the order in which they are received. The cost of a Festival ticket to attend all general sessions is $ 550., and there are other sponsorship and participation levels available.
