bonalibro is evolving into an online writers colony, with a handful of members in just a few days. The idea is to build a place where writers with a bent for literary fiction can develop and promote their work, and receive critiques from others who share their penchant for style over plot, and character development over cardboard characterization. Each writer gets a sub domain site, with static pages and a blog, where he can post a public excerpt, maintain files for members only to critique or just enjoy, and a blog on which to express express himself in whatever manner is in keeping with the spirit of the site. At it's heart is a blog on the main domain where each work is excerpted and linked to a common blog roll. There is also a common message board.
Membership is exclusively by invitation and audition. The site is meant to reflect the taste and interests of its founding members, and will not become a common slush pile. Our aim is to promote the site to literary agencies saying, in effect, here is a handful of work we have culled from the slush, that we all agree is worth looking at. Perhaps you will, too.
That's pretty much the progress, so far. If anyone would consider joining, I invite you to click the link: bonalibro and have a look at the work itself.
