Morning Argument-a prose poem

Morning Argument

I see an old newspaper floating in a mountain stream;

the text on the last page has bled through to the text

on the first page, so the newspaper looks like it's been

read by the water and the water's reading of the news

has transformed it into something blurred, multi-layered

and beautiful. If I look I can make out phrases and these

phrases are also beautiful, proving, again, that water can

handle everything.
