A Highland Werewolf Wedding is the eleventh book in the Heart of the Wolf series by Terry Spear. This highly acclaimed series is well known for Spear's great sense of pack dynamics, as well as her ability to bring her characters to startling reality. Spear's latest edition to the series once again takes readers back to the Highlands. Readers who like the contemporary style of some of Spear's books will still find a lot to love in A Highland Werewolf Wedding.
There are a couple of things that always stand out in a Terry Spear novel. Terry always seems to put her heart and soul into everything she writes and it is always evident in her characters. Even those who barely make an appearance, still have a back story, a reason for being there, and the fun part is, you just might see them again down the road. Spear takes great pains to make sure that each character is realistic, acts according to who and what they are and is able to get under the skin of the reader. I always figuring out which direction she will take a character next.
Spear is often praised for her thorough research and her ideas on pack dynamics. Spear has spent many hours in the field watching and recording real wolf packs and real behaviors and she incorporates them into her books with precision. I always imagine her like Jane Goodall with pen and notebook in hand... LOL. I think one of the things that makes this series so popular is the fact that the infrastructure of the packs in Spears' books is so similar to that of a real pack.
I like the fact that Spear once again shifts back to the Highland wolves. I love the contemporary style of some of her books, but that old world feel of those set in Scotland always touches my heart. Being of Scottish ancestry, I think makes the stories about the Highland wolves resonate stronger with me, but there is definitely something for everyone here.
A Highland Werewolf Wedding is just what the doctor ordered if you enjoy good paranormal romance, realistic dynamics and just all around good story telling. Spear has another great "Happy Ever After" here that I know fans of the series will love, as well as, new readers.

I'm giving this one 5 out of 5 apples from my book bag.
