I don't realize how important the Internet is until I don't have it! And...electricity!
We had lots of storms through the area, still having strong winds and some rain. But yesterday, Savage Hunger was up for a vote, and still is today, but:
I had intermittant Internet. Sometimes I think that's worse than no Internet at all. Because?
It's a teaser. I had to do the final read on A Howl for a Highlander, and I needed to look up something on the Internet. Couldn't. I finished proofing the PDF and went to send it to my editor. I finally, finally, finally was able to access my email, but it would only upload part of the file and then: FAIL.
I tried to get on Facebook to announce about the voting. Still can't get on there to post. I tried to add it to my blogs. Couldn't add link. FAIL.
*sigh* I did finish A Howl for a Highlander. And I did work on Highland Rake, but I spent way too much time trying to get stuff done on the Internet that was not happening. Even today, I had to comment on comments on a couple of guest blogs that had stacked up...and finally was able to get through.
I still have not gotten to the newsletter because it's also an Internet driven letter.
Next week and all week it'll be time for more guest blogs. Hopefully, it'll be cooler and we'll have no outages!
Do you ever miss the Internet???
