In romance writing, we're challenged with having romantic trysts in places other than the usual--bed. When I mentioned To Tempt the Wolf in my one of my workshops, and where the heroine found the hero injured and naked on her beach, one of my male students said that doing it on the beach was impractical.
They don't make love on the beach, just as a matter of setting the story straight here. :) But my student would be right. Yep, all that sand...nope, not fun. Plus he was injured, and it was very cold out!
In Destiny of the Wolf, one of my secondary characters mentions a fantasy of hers would be doing it in the bathroom stall on a plane. Also, not fun...have you ever been in one of those pint-sized latrines? It's hard enough to be in there by YOURSELF, let alone with someone else to make out.
So even if we want different, we should try to make the scene practical. :)
Okay, now I have a question--an online newspaper interviewed me in Portland, and the question was something to the effect: Why don't you have your werewolves doing it in wolf form?
So my question to you--would this be reasonable? Or not?
And have you read of a sex scene that was in place that would not truly work out well at all?
We're having bad storms this morning again. :(
Have a super day!
