"The Visitant," with Michele Feren
I moved and moved and moved when I was a kid, and quite a bit when I was older. First, because my dad was in the Air Force, and then because he was with the space program. When I lived in Merritt Island, Florida, I met Diane. And we became best of friends. Her dad was retired from the Marine Corp, mine from the AF. They both worked for McDonald Douglas and our mothers worked at a department store and became best of friends. And that's how Diane and I became best of friends.
Her sister was a librarian and much older than us, so Diane sneaked a couple of books to me to read--my first adult romances...and last, for years. LOL Coffee, Tea, or Me and Tender Loving Care. Wild!
We were supposed to graduate high school and go to college together, share a room. But the bottom dropped out of the space program and we had to move. We wrote to each other daily.
But I gave her a locket and we signed all our letters to each other YBFF--your best friend forever. The actress, Michele Feren, is wearing the locket in the film--"The Visitant".
When I had the chance to go to Nationals in Orlando, Diane met me to have dinner. It was wonderful and it felt as though we had never been apart.
In the film her husband, Ben, made, they used the locket that I had given Diane. Now how special can that be?
Thanks, Diane, for being my friend forever.
Do you have friends like that who, no matter the time that passes, have always been your friends?
