The First Line Contest results will be posted later this afternoon, and Karin has decided to postpone adding the new lines for those who make the 20 cuts this week until the Friday after New Years so finalists don't have to stress. No stress? First, we're all stressed about whether we even made the cut this week. Then we have to stress because we won't learn for TWO weeks if we make it. Course, if my lines didn't make it today, then yep, no more stress. :) So, see, it's important to find the positive in every negative. :)
Everyone has been sick around here, patrons, my mother, kids. So it only seems fair I should catch something of what ails them. Yesterday, I had a bout of the flu. I feel pretty good today, so hoping that I won't have any more trouble today. Though I haven't eaten since lunchtime yesterday, and I'm afraid to even try coffee or green tea this morning.... :( I have to work tomorrow, so I really can't afford to be sick.
And, I'm STILL begging for votes for the NOR Award nomination for Heart of the Wolf by Terry Spear. I'm still tied with one other author. Different one than before. LOL :) http://www.nightowlromance.com/nightowlromance/NORAwards/fall2008norawardsromancebooks.asp So if you haven't voted, and would like to take a minute, you can do a find/search and vote, paranormal column.
I had some really neat news though yesterday! An author on one of my romance loops announced she'd inherited some books on medieval history and wanted to give them away for the cost of shipping. I was delighted, and had just been at a used book store looking for some good books on the medieval life I love to use in my medieval romantic suspenses. Better than a Christmas present! :)
But I'm no where near my word count for the last two weeks on my new wolf tale. Why? Not sure I like where my story is going. argh. I've rewritten the beginning three times already, which is par for the course, but the problem is I can't come up with a deep plot I like. Soooo, I'm floundering.
Ever do that? What do you do to get your story going in the right direction?
Heart of the Wolf, Destiny of the Wolf, Winning the Highlander's Heart, The Vampire...In My Dreams (YA)
