Ah, yes, the wisdom of Yoda. I always thought the notion commendable. Don't say you're going to try and write a book, do it.
Don't say you're going to fix the plumbing. Do it, and then if that doesn't work, hire someone that can do the job right.
It's been one of those weeks, or I should say last week and this one has been, where everything that could malfunction does. The lights are not coming on in the closet. The toilet's not flushing. A drawer face came off...
And the list goes on.
Sometimes I think that it's amazing how these things happen all at once. But they don't. It's just that it takes me some time to get around to fixing them.
I buy new florescent light bulbs, the fixture still isn't working. But I did what I thought was the solution. I wiggle them back and forth occasionally, to see if I just don't have them seated properly, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. But I'd hate to call in an electrician, waste my time and his, not to mention the expensive service call just because I haven't seated the bulbs right.
Then there's the toilet. I do. I use the plunger. It breaks on me. I get another. It doesn't work. So I did what I could and called the plumber. Now it's his time to do. $812 later, did I ever mention how much I want to strangle my dad if he wasn't dead?, he would be grinning at me with that evil loveable grin..., the work still do be done this afternoon, I will have a working toilet.
And then there's the drawer. I did fix it! Once I located the Gorilla glue, and hope this time the drawer face stays in place. A friend of mine said her father glued a birdhouse back together, set it against a brick wall and the pavement to let it set, and it glued to the wall and pavement. No getting it apart.
So I'm hoping that's what happens with the drawer face. Three problems, one fixed...because there is no try--do, or do not.
And that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
What about you? Do you do???
