Daylight Savings Time
Lurking in the Dark

Why do we have to have Daylight Savings Time? Who says we get an extra hour in the day? Or whatever???  When I went home last night, it was 6 PM and I had to get gas in the dark--by the way it was down to $1.95!!! And people are buying trucks??? Don't they know the lower gas prices won't last? Sorry, off topic...and I had to get groceries for my sick mother in the dark, and actually drove home in the dark! At 6:00!!! And this morning it's 6 and it's dark. Sooo why do we have to do this?

I used to feel that way when I was in the Army. I'd go to work in the dark and get home in the dark. No windows in the Research and Development Command at Fort Monmouth. So I felt like I was a mole.

Then there's the clock issue. I was really nice and changed the clocks at the library for my fellow librarians.

Forgot the one in my bedroom. My daughter got up an hour early for church, and went back to bed.

But when I tried to change my car clock? Let's see, push this button. Nope. That changed the radio station. It says minutes, hours. But what else do I push to get it to work? Push this button. Nope that shoved out my CD. Hmm, so I struggled and struggled and struggled, pushing one button after another and ran through the whole sequence again. And by the time I got to work after twenty minutes of messing with it, voila! Ii changed my clock. Will I remember how to do it in the spring again? Bet not.

*sigh* I have to do my mother's car clock next, and you know what? No two car clocks are set the same way. It's a conspiracy!

Hope everyone is adjusting well to the Daylight Savings Time, who is stuck with having to deal with it twice a year, at least better than I am. For days I'll think---it's really 7 am and I'm up late, or I'm going to bed at midnight when I should have gone to bed an hour earlier. Whoever doesn't have to put up with the changing times--Arizona? You're lucky!

Back to lessons, working some on my new wolf story: Silence of the Wolves...and have to take my mother to the doctor. And sometime today, I've got to change my bedroom clock!
