My mother's kidney sugery 7+ weeks ago has not been the bandaid sugery the doctor promised and we've had more problems after problems. So today I've got to run her into the hospital for a blood transfusion and two units of blood.
I'm also working the book fair today, so will stay with her until I start work, and then work until she calls me to take her home....what a day. I usually don't have time at work to read my work email, so yesterday I had a lull in business and was thrilled to get a lot of emails from the announcement that Heart of the Wolf made PW's BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR!! One lady said she'd bought the book for her mother and was getting another for herself. The library said they were changing their policy of just taking donated paperbacks and were now buying some of them for the library. :)
And I can't wait to see the poster that includes my book on it. Maybe they'll donate it to me! :)
As usual, running!!! Hoping my mother will finally feel better after the transfusion. And the worst, well maybe not worst, but annoying bit of news? Her regular family doctor would NOT give her a prescription, or whatever they do, to allow her handicapped parking!!! She's got arthritis in a foot really bad from a car accident she was in when she was 20, and so she limps something awful, and she's so winded, maybe because of the lack of blood in her system, that she can barely make it to the grocery store, let alone, through it. Yet, how many "handicapped" people have you seen racing from their handicapped parking spaces to the stores?
Okay, got to run and take my mother to the hospital. :) Have a super Friday everyone!!!
