I'm always talking about cornfields, but the farmer doesn't always plant them to give the soil a rest. So now what is this that he's growing in the field???
Is it some form of wheat? :) I don't think so. I just looked up pictures and it doesn't look like these. Anyone know??? I thought at one time he grew rye grass. Is that what it is? I didn't think it was that tall.
I finished the final proofing for Jaguar Fever and sent it back in. I now need to get back on track with Jaguar Hunt. :) Only 34,000 words to go! :)
The birds have been chirping up a storm. I don't believe I've ever heard them make so much lively song-filled chatter ever. Maybe because I was still working full time this time last year and didn't have time to listen to them.
I love the rustle of the breeze through trees. Do you ever stop and listen to the sound? If you use your imagination, it can sound like the far off distance rolling of waves on a beach. I don't have enough large trees in the front yard to make the sound--normally--but last year when the cornfields were high, the wind blew through them, making them sound like the ocean waves, or the way a strong breeze sways tree branches.
Well yesterday, my cypress tree is now getting big enough, or maybe it was the breeze sweeping the unknown plants in the field, that made me feel as though I was in a forest habitat. I love that feeling and listening to the birds in song.
What do you love to hear when you're outside?
