I don't tend to write blogs. I am not sure what I want to say in such a short time, that others haven't already heard before. I could expand my opinion on politics - it is always nice to have someone to agree with, even if you have never met them before.. but what if I regret what I say later? Sneaking back and changing my words seems a little over serious for a little bit of blogging. It is soo much effort.
Instead I like to save up my words, until the words become an essay, that changes into a chapter, that then becomes my book. It is a little selfish, but has the benefit of reflection and thought before being commited to paper, or to an ebook.
And of course, it is free. I know blogging is too, but now I am thinking of hobbies in general. There isn't many hobbies where it practically costs nothing but an internet connection to enjoy; even the internet connection can be for free. The word, image editing, file converting, and video making programes can all be downloaded for free - you can find a list of them on my (free) google site -https://sites.google.com/site/praycouk/ . There are also free cartoon magazine makers online, if you look for them, and there is also free www. sites - you can even make the website your book, I guess.
A few people I know made the websites into games, using link buttons and stuff like that. I am not into that much, so didn't pay much attention, but you get the general idea. Even uploading the book to Amazon, and converting it into an ebook was free.
Another thing about writing is that it boosts my ego. That isn't a bad thing, and even though I would like to be entertaining for other people, it is mostly for my own benefit that I write, so other peoples opinions don't really bother me. I value criticism ; it helps me re evaluate my writing, but I don't think I have to change my writing for anyone else, if I don't want to. I enjoy the writing bit of book making.
What else can I say? Writing sharpens my thoughts. I am re-learning how to be concise and how to do things within a time span. It gives me some alone time, and I am also utilising a useful piece of equipment that was previously only used for checking spam emails, utube, and looking for free sites that don't include full frontal flash adverts.
And iff I don't have access to a computer? There is always a pen and paper.
