She sees me
In a pool of light
Behind a lens
Tattoos form on my skin
In tendrils and snakes
Curlicues of smoke
Frame my face
Hot wind blows
Saluting the tulle
Of rose pink
The pearls fly
In all directions
I hear them shatter
On gravel - grey and crumbly
My bare feet
With scarlet nails
Screaming of summer
That approaches fast
Like the cat,
It brushes against my leg
Look towards the light,
She tells me
I turn squinting
Move your body
Feel its fluidity
Like a ballet dancer
I let go
The feather in my hair
To and fro
Glides towards the gravel
Soft and hard collide
Hold that pose
Frozen, I look at her
She makes the dream
A reality
She captures life
As it passes before our eyes
Keep it forever
You are young once
Beautiful for even less,
She says
And I believe her
Because I am only me
For that moment
And she is only her
Behind the lens.
