Tara Betts is the author of the poetry collection Arc and Hue on Aquarius Press' Willow Books imprint. Tara is a lecturer in creative writing at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.  A Cave Canem graduate and VONA alum, Tara received her MFA from New England College. Her work has appeared in several anthologies and journals. Her writing has been performed by Steppenwolf Theater's "Words on Fire" and adapted for the theatrical productions  "Fingernails Across a Chalkboard" and "That Takes Ovaries!" "The Greatest", her short libretto about the friendship between Muhammad Ali and Malcolm X, will be performed by Peggy Choy Dance Company. She is co-editing Bop, Strut, Dance: A Post-Blues Form For New Generations, an anthology of bop poems with Afaa M. Weaver.
