Exciting, dynamic characters and situations are catalyzed, I believe, from exciting dynamic settings. We will discuss how to create settings that draw in the reader, how to avoid falling into boring-but-comfortable setting traps, and how to research exotic settings without having to leave your maybe-not-so-exotic home.
