Suzanne Kamata was born and raised in Michigan and is most recently from South Carolina. She is the author of the novel Losing Kei (Leapfrog Press, 2008), the picture book Playing for Papa/en el equipe de Papa (Topka Books, 2009), and the editor of three anthologies - The Broken Bridge: Fiction from Expatriates in Literary Japan (Stone Bridge Press, 1997), Love You to Pieces: Creative Writers on Raising a Child with Special Needs (Beacon Press, 2008) and Call Me Okaasan: Adventures in Multicultural Mothering (Wyatt-Mackenzie Publishing, 2009). She lives in Aizumi, Japan, with her husband and bicultural twins.
