TODAY IS THAT'S MY SONG THURSDAY
While I was thinking about what [today's'] blog should be, the Holy Spirit spoke to me "That's my song." Then he began to converse with my spirit on how important it is for every follower of Christ to have a special song or hymn of adoration for our God to combat the ego (flesh)-enemy (Satan). "Worship the Lord with gladness. Come to him with songs of joy." (Psalms 100:2 NIRV).
Although there are millions of songs to sing to God, every song doesn't have the anointing of God on them. I know many of you thought that because the songs were about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit they derived from God. Allow me to disillusion you, everyone that creates and sings Christian songs aren't followers of Jesus Christ. "Many will say to me on that day , Lord! Lord! Didn't we prophesy in your name? Didn't we do many miracles in your name? Then he will tell them clearly, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you who do evil?' (Matthew 7:22-23). Please allow me to paraphrase. "Lord! Lord! Didn't we create songs in your name? Didn't we sing many songs in your name? The he will tell them clearly, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you who do evil." Get the point!
I have found that singing songs to our God is soothing balm for my soul. In addition these very songs allow my spirit to enter into the very courtyards of Gods domain. "Give thanks as you enter the gates of his temple. Give praise as you enter its courtyards. Give thanks to him and praise his name." (Psalm 100:4). This thankfulness and praise to God that King David wrote about has brought me through some turbulent fearful times. Did you know that thankfulness and adoration to God are pieces of armor that can be and should be applied in many areas of warfare. There is this one particular song that I applied most often. "Our God is an awesome God He reigns from heaven above With wisdom, power and love Our God is an awesome God." (Rich Mullins). This song has been very instrumental in tearing down the enemies assaults against me.
"Shout to the Lord with joy, everyone on earth. Burst into joyful songs and make music." (Psalm 98:4). If only everyone would sincerely adhere to this scripture than many would experience heaven right here on this earth. I'm just saying... Although I have [many] songs that I sing to God, there is nothing like the ones that He personally places in my heart. For example "If only they knew If only they knew If only they knew the pain that was holding me back from youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. If only they knew If only they knew If only they knew my search to finnnnnnnnnnnnne a God like youuuuuuuu. If only they knew If only they knew If only they knew all the sins I brought to youuuuuuuuuu. If only they knew If only they knew If only they knew how dead I was without you. If only they knew If only they knew." This is just as small portion of THAT'S MY SONG. As you can see I'm no song writer, and I'm defiantly not a singer. My family/friends can testify to that, nevertheless they don't feel sorrow for me, for they understand singing songs was never going to be my lot in life. Funny!
Thank you God! For only having one requirement for my songs, and that would be that they derive from a pure heart. " Blessed are those whose hearts are pure. They will see God." (Matthew 5:8). When the Holy Spirit revealed to me that my songs to God were sincere, pure and well pleasing to him, I've been creating and singing THAT'S MY SONG every since. "Lord my God, I will praise you with all my heart, I will bring glory to you forever." (Psalm 86:12). As I was finishing up this blog, another song resonated within me. "This is my Lords song no one can sing like me, no one can feel like me, because this is my Lords song." What's your song?
