TODAY IS BRING ME BACK SOMETHING MONDAY..

Today is (BRING ME BACK SOMETHING MONDAY.)

This statement is clearly asking for accommodations. However I’ll be applying this statement to the contents of those that don’t work, but love to eat what others have worked for. “If a man doesn’t work he shouldn’t eat.” Allow me to paraphrase “If a man/or woman won’t work, than very well they shouldn’t eat." Hold up wait a minute! Allow me to explain, before the enemy delivers thoughts to pollute this scripture, and my paraphrase. In no way is this meant for those that can’t work. It’s for the many that lay around expecting folk to BRING ME BACK SOMETHING. Did you know the ego (flesh) can parallel between being excessively energetic or excessively lazy. Since God is minus the flesh there is never a balance between the two. You’ll either work yourself to death according to the ego (flesh) or you’ll be so lazy that you’ll work someone else to death with your many BRING ME BACK SOMETHING.

It’s amazing how the apostle Paul commanded the believers to stay away from lazy folk. “And now, dear brothers and sisters, we give you this command with the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ. Stay away from any Christian who lives in idleness and doesn’t follow the tradition of hard work we gave you. For you know that you out to follow our example. We were never lazy when we were with you.” (2 Thessalonians 3:6-7). Remarkable, Paul is only speaking to the believers, for he knew first hand that folk was sitting around waiting for Christ to COME BACK. When there was still much work to be done in this world. Please understand God isn’t finished populating this world yet, because if he was he could easily close the wombs of all fertile women.

I so remember the many times I would say to my parents BRING ME SOMETHING BACK, and they done just that. Also I remember saying BRING ME SOMETHING BACK, and they wouldn’t bring me anything. I’m sure they were just thinking like most parents “I just didn’t need it.” In retrospect they were disillusioning me from all the worldly illusions in which my flesh would become accustom to “BRING ME BACK SOMETHING.” Because of that subtly teaching, I’ve never had the expectation of other folk to BRING ME BACK SOMETHING.

As I reflect on BRING ME BACK SOMETHING one of my uncles comes to mind. By gosh he detested men that could work, but wouldn’t work. It used to anger his soul, honestly. He was very vocal, and didn’t care who knew how he felt about it. One of his daughters had a boyfriend who wouldn’t work, and every time she would leave the house the boyfriend would declare BRING ME SOMETHING BACK. I’m talking about every time. My uncle would take her to the store, and to pay her bills. All the while the boyfriend stayed at house watching his favorite shows, or laying in bed from partying all night. Sadly she had to take their kids with her. I wasn’t there, but I’m sure my uncle had steam coming from his nose, and ears “not figuratily.” As they say he gave her an ear full of business. “A lazy person sleeps soundly and goes hungry.”(Proverbs 19:15).

My uncle talked about this man being lazy so much, we knew how he looked way before we ever met him. I’ll never forget the time my uncle was at our house, and his daughter called, and asked him to take her to pick up her check, he was yelling at her about the boyfriend not having a car, eventually he went on to take her. He told us when he got there the boyfriend got in the car also, and said “wait a minute I forgot my hat.” My uncle said “no he didn’t go, and put on his own check cashing cap “get paid.”” Listen if you don’t work, you don’t eat. There is no middle ground. “Lazy people don’t even cook the game they catch, but the diligent make use of everything they find.”(Proverbs 12:27).

Please understand in no way am I condoning my uncles’ behavior, surely he was ignorant in the way he handled it. However what he was saying to his daughter was necessary, but the approach was unpleasant concerning her relationship. However let’s not forget we weren’t Christians at the time, and unfortunately my uncle isn’t one as of today “yet praying for his soul.”  My friends she wasn’t helping her boyfriend, and my uncle wasn’t assisting his lazy bones "as he should have been" into working bones either. Rather you like it or not laziness is a form of slavery. “Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave.” (Proverbs 12:24). Tragically every man that lives off of a woman is enslaving his woman, and she is in turn enslaving her family.

Let’s take today and be conscious of the folk that declare “BRING ME SOMETHING BACK. If not we may very well be assisting others into poverty.  “Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty.” (Proverbs 14:23). (SLH).
