Here it is, the UK version of Roadwork: Rock And Roll Turned Inside Out's new cover.
New title: Raising Hell On The Rock 'N' Roll Highway.
Omnibus, the book's UK publisher, is sure that the flaming-hottie version will move way more copies than the fine-art cover and wordplay-title of last year's US edition, which the director of the Center for American History hailed as "a major contribution to the literature of rock and roll."
Rock photographer Tom Wright, whose life's story and work comprises the pages, is deliriously happy with the new look. As his co-author, I'm happy that he's happy.
The incendiary new volume – which leaves Pete Townshend's fabulous and insightful foreword intact – will be making the foreign rights rounds at the Frankfurt Book Fair next month. It hits UK bookstore shelves in February.
