where the writers are
Continuation of In 2013

I have determined to write a minimum of 500 words a day. Today I have written 523. That has given me a good start on what appears to be something that could turn into a good story. I am enjoying the characters. Now to get some action going. It is amazing how quickly one can write 500 words. I hope to work my way up to 1000 soon, but I don't want to jinx myself. I know my limitations. I am a woman of leisure. At least as much leisure as I can afford. It will take great self-discipline to set myself down to write even 500 words a day. (And I do mean every day, not just five or six days a week.) I hope that soon it will become as easy and as necessary as breathing. No one ever told me that living a dream would be less than simple and blissful. With my short attention span, my dream could prove to be quite difficult and demanding! But 500 words...I can do 500 words.

Regarding poetry submissions, I am committed to submitting at least one poem at least once a week. Considering the fact that I am pursuing my graduate degree while working full time, I do not want to commit to any more than just one submission per week. What I do hope to do is to produce a substantial amount of work this next year. And once I have graduated in the fall of 2014, I will have plenty of time to pursue publication.
