Susan M. Ewing's Biography
Member Info
Dogs and writing pretty much sum up my professional life. My master's is in Television-radio, so I've done a fair amount of radio copy writing. Growing up, my family didn't move much, but my husband and I have lived in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Arizona, besides returning to Jamestown periodically. I owned and operated a boarding kennel, have worked for several radio stations, one TV station, and a few newspapers. Besides my books, I've written a weekly column since 2001 for The Post-Journal in Jamestown, NY. I also work part-time as a tour guide at the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Center.
Influences
My family, especially my maternal grandmother.
Other writers, of both fiction and non-fiction. Good ones inspire me; bad ones make me say, "I can do better than that!"
My dogs. I'd never manage a weekly column without using my dogs as subject matter.

Interests & Hobbies
Wales, wolves, whales, anything Celtic. Cats, dogs, practically any animal, really. I read a lot and always have a couple of books going. I have a moderate interest in Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. I enjoy knitting. Love writing. Photography is starting to interest me. Like antiques and Southwest jewelry.
