Susan Barr-Toman’s debut novel When Love Was Clean Underwear was selected by Ann Hood as the winner of the Many Voices Project fiction award. She was born and raised in Philadelphia where she still lives with her husband and two children and where she teaches writing at Temple University. She holds an MFA in Writing and Literature from the Bennington Writing Seminars.
