I am Thankful For... All of My Feelings

For many years while I was growing up, Thanksgiving was an agony for me. I didn't like or eat turkey, and was forced to go to the home of relatives I didn't like. I coped by just eating the stuffing and mashed potatoes, and tried to help my mom by "just getting along." What I couldn't understand were the actions of my abusive, alcoholic uncle who raged in that house and scared us all, and why my parents tolerated it....
