My baby………….. When you were born, Ugly and shriveled you looked. my heart did skip a beat, when you looked blue and glued. Greeting you to the world,My ears strained for your cry.the nurse slapped you twice, while my mouth went dry. I would have wrung her neck, But you cried aloud in protest.Meekly you whined, what the heck!I subdued then, all my detest. I held you close to my heart,Assured you, we will never part.Yet you cried your lungs out,I did my best to hold you right. I spoke to you of pain I bore, while I brought you to the world afore. The bliss you gave while withinThe pride I feel lifting your chin. You knew nothing, then the hunger beganyou drew closer, to suckle and feed . I turned my sweat to blood, paid no heed, Imagined you growing up into a man. I felt love holding you close you belonged to me and none else.I watched your toothless smile,You lay in slimy embrace for a while. I rejoiced when you turned over, you missed your first step and fell over.Your chin bled, while my heart cried,But you stood up, again my tears you dried. I danced the dance of my life, While you held my little finger tight.your little steps went back and forth, but you picked on henceforth. Floral hues bloomed in your face,I watched the rainbow through your eyes.Felt the drizzle in the garden green,The night stars twinkled in your eyes. Your smiles shined in the mustard fields,I heard your chatter in the twittering birds. your embrace warmed my silky nights, fragrance of your love, I smelt all nights. I fought the world to bring you up,I spent my nights watching you sleep,Illness visited, to leave you in agony,I held you tight, prayed through the night. Today you stand on your own legs,my little finger you don’t hold.Yet I am thankful to you for the feel,
the complete woman now that I feel.
My baby…………………….You let me live my childhood.
