What Does Catholic Mean?
Blog Post by Suellen Ocean - Apr.26.2012 - 1:50 pm
Catholic means "universal" and "effecting mankind as a whole". Although today one usually understands it to mean a member of the Catholic Church, it also refers to the "ancient and undivided Christian church or a church claiming historical continuity to it". F. catholique, fr. L., fr. Gr. katholikos.
