Sounds crazy but if extra calories stress your body why not your mind? Overload can lead to depression whether it be food or any of the other factors in life that wreck havoc on our well-being. Consult your doctor if you have depression, especially severe, but next time try avoiding eating that extra helping. If you're full, walk away. If not, why not try having something else, something different? I suspect too much of one food might tax your mind.
