I began an experiment of sorts with my new website back in November, and it's doing okay. 28 blog posts (and six more in the hopper) every two to four days--all fiction or fictionalized "non-fiction" for the worlds I build behind the scenes of the stories and novels I'm writing.
I'll be importing those blog posts here from time to time. Here's hoping folks either come here to read the latest and comment. Alternately, people can use my blog at brainstormfront.livejournal.com to read the feeds and comment there as well. Last but certainly not least, folks can just come straight to my site at http://www.steveneschend.com and comment (or even join the forums and get even more information and details there).
So, the experiment? Glad you asked.
The blog at steveneschend.com (and ostensibly here, though I'll interject with writerly thoughts and comments here more often than there) provides chunks of fiction and world building for stories and books and comics and movies and whatnot--it's the world inside the world inside my books. In other words, when my characters (in an urban fantastic environment) read books, I know what they're reading and I could probably tell you the publishing information, the book collector's view on that book, whether it'd been adapted as a comic book, etc.
Too deep? I don't think so. I like my fiction with some depth. Here's hoping you do too and want to come along for the ride.
