As a kid, and in high school, I loved painting representational pictures. In college, I started to write and became obsessed with the complexity and beauty of the worlds that I created. I get a gigantic charge when friends and acquaintances read, laugh along with, and appreciate my work. It's sort of like painting frescoes on the walls and ceiling and columns of a huge room and leading people in one by one to view my completed work of art. When I finish a story, I itch to start the next. My newest novel, Happy Little Breakups, is currently seeking an agent, and then, if the gods are with me, it will find a good publisher. A self-contained section of that novel was published in "The Dirty Goat" #14, and another will appear in the upcoming "Lullwater Review." A previous novel, Strange Jazz, is available at Amazon.com.
