Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, I am a true southerner at heart. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2009 with a degree in Psychology. That same year, I moved to San Francisco and became a community organizer woring in low-income communities. I was recently admitted to the MFA Writing program at the prestigious California College of the Arts.
The major writing projects I'm working on currently are: a screenplay for an animation on Cartesian Dualism, an essay on Islam and the Black American self-concept, a playwright of Uncle Sam on trial, and a collection of dialogues highlighting tension around commonly held American values.
Favorite Authors: Amiri Baraka, Stephen King, Karen Armstrong, John Henrik Clarke, Noam Chomsky, Dr. Cornel West, James H. Cone (to name a few).
