There is a famous speech where Hamlet instructs the players on acting. Many have taken this speech as Shakespeare himself speaking to his actors. And that may be true in part, as the advice is sound. But there is a glint within the lines that suggests to me two other purposes: First, he may be having some fun with all the advice he himself has gotten on his plays from the aristocracy. Second, he may be having fun with what used to be his own acting style.
