Scout could herd. Virgil could rope
and tie. You’d think they’d make a
great team.
You’d think. They wouldn’t agree.
Until the day that Barrier Reef Bullface
set fin in the O.K. Coral. He had trouble
on his mind and fish in his belly, and
a couple of old big-mouthed (and bighatted)
cowpokes weren’t going to stop
him.
Well, not by themselves anyway. But
maybe if they work together, they just
might figure out how to rid their little
piece of paradise of someone nasty.
Right, pardner?
Stacy gives an overview of the book:
Scout and Virgil were the O.K. Coral’s best cowhands ever. Scout
could herd any fish – feisty, frisky, even ferocious. And Virgil could
rope and tie one in six seconds flat.
Until one day when trouble arrived. Big trouble. The kind that starts
with “T” rhymes with “B” and stands for Bullface. Barrier Reef Bullface.
Biggest, meanest, hungriest bull shark for miles around...

Writing an author bio is perhaps the single hardest writing task for me. I’ve long pondered – in lotus pose – why this might be the case. After my knees threatened to come apart at the seam, I relinquished said pose and I decided my troubles with describing myself originate...

Dizzy is an upbeat children's picturebook about Dizzy, the world's fastest dolphin, so speedy he can leap out of the water and clear a full gainer reversed with a spin.
This is another star(fish) for Stacy Nyikos. We enjoy reading the story and learning more about marine life. She has a great talent for blending facts and a life-lesson tale (patience) into a rhyming story...
